The academic fees charged are the Government of Kenya approved Differentiated Unit Cost (DUC), as currently applied in accordance with the:

  • Universities  Act, 2012
  • University of Nairobi Statutes, 2013
  • University Financial Regulations, 2016
  • University of Nairobi Policy on Fees Collection, 2017

Administrative fees charged have incorporated the Commission for University Education (CUE) and the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services charges.

 

Policy position on fees payment

The provisions of UON Statutes shall apply:

All students admitted to the University of Nairobi for any degree, diploma, certificate or other award of the University shall pay the University such Registration fees, Tuition Fees and other fees and charges as Council may from time to time determine.

The University shall withhold any and all services, examination results, conferment of any degree, certificate or award until all outstanding fees are settled and further reserve the right to institute other legal recovery proceedings against students with outstanding fees and also surcharge an interest at a rate to be determined by Council from time to time.
