Students from needy backgrounds will benefit from a 60 million education scholarship from Rattansi Educational Trust to support their university education. This was revealed today 19th December 2016 when the Education Trust led by the Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor Prof. Mbithi.

Dr. Rattansi noted that over the years the trust has increased the funds so as to cater for more students in other universities in the country. She further promised increase the funds even more as the investment climate becomes more favorable.

On his part, Special Students Advisor Prof. Godfrey Muriuki, thanked the Chancellor, for having supported close to 20,000 students over the last 12 years. He thanked the founders of the Rattansi Education Trust for the good work they are doing in supporting higher education in Kenya.

The Rattansi Education Fund Trust helps needy students in institutions of higher learning at public and private universities, polytechnics, and other institutions of tertiary education in Kenya. More than 50 institutions benefit from the Rattansi Bursary awards.

Application for bursaries is done through the respective institutions for both continuing and new students.

Since its establishment 60 years ago, it has donated more than 150 million shillings to deserving and needy students to support their university education.
