The University of Nairobi Dynamites won their sixth match of the season in the Kenyan women’s basketball premier league after competing visitors Jkuat Lynx on Sunday October 9, 2022 at the UoN grounds in Nairobi.  They beat JKUAT team, Lynx,  42-38. 

The UoN women basket ball team  ensured back to back wins for the weekend having played and won Kisumu Lady Bucks 64-40 on Saturday at the same venue. Those results marked the UoN dynamite’s fifth and sixth victories from their opening seven matches while for Jkuat Lynx it was their sixth loss in eight matches.

Liz Okumu, Gaceri Shalon and Vanessa Lynn of the UoN Dynamites dropped 24 points as the Dynamites cruised to victory. The UoN Dynamites started off well winning 13-12 in the first quarter before winning 13-06 in the second quarter establishing a 26-18 lead at the break. JKUAT responded with a 13-03 success in the third quarter but they could not hold that momentum into the final quarter which they lost 07-13.

Dynamites head coach, Juma Kent was impressed with the performance of his team. "I am happy for the win, the girls played well especially fourth quarter. Our fitness level are still low but I am going to work on it as we prepare for our next assignment come next weekend," Kent said.
